US President Donald Trump has formed a task force for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico next year. The announcement was made during a ceremony at the White House, where Trump signed the corresponding decree in the presence of FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The task force will collaborate with various ministries and agencies to assist in the planning and organization of the 2026 World Cup, as well as the Club World Cup scheduled for this summer from June 15 to July 13, according to a statement from the White House.

Infantino expressed gratitude to Trump for establishing the task force, highlighting that millions of people will be traveling to the United States, first for the Club World Cup and then for the World Cup next year. He also presented Trump with the trophy of the Club World Cup, in which Bundesliga teams FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will compete.

The FIFA President noted the economic impact of the events, estimating it will reach $40 billion from now until next year. “We will create 200,000 jobs for these two World Cups, and beyond that, we will bring joy and happiness to the whole world,” Infantino stated. Addressing Americans who may be less enthusiastic about soccer compared to American football, Infantino remarked, “We have ten million tickets for sale. That’s like three Super Bowls every day for a month.”
